REO Speedwagon
Remember that band? (I never actually liked them…), but I always wondered what an REO Speedwagon was. Well…now I know…
) More on that tomorrow.
I see a lot of the top of his head in pictures. He is just not a fan of my camera. At all. All I want is for him to look up, look over, look anywhere, just LOOK AT ME!!! But, nope…not today…except once.

I Do Dumb Things…
…like fall into sewer pits in the middle of photo sessions.
Fortunately my VERY fun and VERY coolio senior subject was VERY willing to laugh with me while I took a moment to boo-boo-baby my camera and whisper sweet nothings into my lens so that it would forgive me for sending it sailing across the grass. I was really far more worried about my camera than I was about myself…until tonight, when all is obviously well with my camera, but I on the other hand am VERY sore and have a couple of gnarly bruises on my leg. WHAT FUN!
Alright already…I know you’re really just here for the pictures, so without further adieu… meet Miss B. She is the first in a fairly long string of senior sessions coming up in the next week and a half. It’s been nice to have a little break over Christmas, but it was so fun to be out shooting again…even if I did nearly lose a leg…

I {BIG PUFFY HEART} 4-Year Olds!
They are so fun and full of energy! This little man was no exception. They give you the most thoughtful facial expressions and most of the time they are just so full of goofy fun! LOVE that age! So…this little cutie was my entertainment for the afternoon…along with his great big family.
)
This was a special session to do because the family was here visiting from all over…from as far as China! The youngest couple with the baby are missionaries in China. So cool!!!
Then Grandpa & Grandma were such good sports during their solo shots.
) Their Grandma reminded me of my own sweet grandma…
Oh…and by the way…I was trying something a little different on these “black and whites” and made them more like “brown and whites”. Not quite sepia…but, more like mocha. I’ve been in kind of a mocha mood lately. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’ve consumed waaay too many peppermint mocha’s this Christmas (thank you VERY much Kristi for getting me hooked on those…;o).
Just a friendly reminder that there are only 2 mailing days left to get your cards to me for the drawing for a FREE 2008 Mini-Session! I’ve received lots of cards over the past couple of days. The winner will be announced January 1st at noon.

*** Merry Christmas! ***
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did! We have a sweet tradition that we all look forward to every year…we pack up all the kiddos & the gifts and we head to my parent’s house on Christmas Eve and stay the night there. Every year we have the same scrumptious breakfast after opening gifts (homemade angel biscuits & sausage gravy, bacon, sausage, & fried eggs…YUM-O!!!), then we hang out all day in our jammies playing with the boys. My mom makes a super YUM-O dinner every year and then some time around 8pm or so…we load everything up and head home…happy.
)
This year I decided to document the YUM-O breakfast tradition by taking some pictures of my mom making her this-will-surely-make-you-gain-5-lbs. breakfast. I love that she does this every year for us…and since it’s about the only time we have this ridiculously huge breakfast…I indulge…quite sinfully. ;o) I thought it would be so much fun to take some pictures of food…a little different for me.
OK…I’m seriously hungry now…
She also decorates her table so beautifully…it’s so pretty that you just want to sit there for a long time after you’ve finished eating…just hanging out and chatting.
Thanks Mom (& Dad
) for another GREAT Christmas!
FOR THE REST OF YOU…in the next day or so I will be making lots of fun announcements about new and exciting happenings in my little photography world. I’m so excited about some of the new things that I’ll be offering for 2008…the launch of my new website…and some other fun stuff…so stay tuned!

I go through phases…
First…I can’t believe that it’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve given my poor little bloggity-bug any love and attention. Forgive me, sweet blog! I’ll try never to let it happen again.
Second…I have an EXCITING NEW CONTEST to annouce…details below.
Here are a few shots from a couple of recent sessions and then also a couple others of a sweet family that you’ll recognize from a couple weeks ago. I do go through phases…and I’m currently just LOVING color popping creamy looking images like this precious little girl in blue and boy in black…and I’m also really loving black and whites after a very long love affair with sepia. So, I thought I’d throw up some of both.
)
I’ll be back to blogging more regularly now that the holiday session madness is behind me.
) I’ll be chattin’ with ya soon!
Here’s some “pop” for ya T:
The following two shots are two of my favorite for this whole season because to me they both just totally show the love between a mom and her child. I love the first one because this mom was just so patient and sweet with her kids the whole session. She’s got two really little ones…close together in age…but, she was just calm and sweet with them the whole time. I love the 2nd one because…well, I love the people in it
), but also because it reminds me of my own relationship with my boys…I just treasure those sweet giggly moments.
And then these were so much fun because these brothers are just so super casual and fun. This was a quick do-over because the day we did their regular family session we had such icky weather that we decided to get some shots of the boys alone at a later date. I’m glad we waited.
)
And now for the contest announcement…YAY! This is going to be a fun one…for ME! And…of course, for the winner…it’s going to be a blast! This is an EXCLUSIVE CONTEST ;o), (I hope that doesn’t sound snobby), but this contest is only for my 2007 clients to enter. You have all blessed me in far more ways than I could have imagined when I started this little venture. I would never have thought that I would have been so busy and I can’t thank you enough for giving me the honor of photographing your family. I’ve had fun with everyone of you…and a ton of fun with your kids. I also can’t thank you enough for how you’ve referred me to so many new people. I’ve met some wonderful families…some that I expect I will know for years! I’m so excited about what 2008 willl bring…and I can’t WAIT to get back to photographing babies and children…my favorite subjects.
) So…to my wonderful clients and many new friends…THANK YOU!!!
Simply mail me your family’s Christmas card with your photo to the address on your invoice (you can email me for my address if you don’t have it) and you will be entered into a drawing for a FREE MINI-SESSION in 2008! Cards must be received by December 31st and I will randomly choose and announce the winner on January 1st.
